Instructor: Melody Draves "Double-knitting" or "Twining" is a very cool technique alternating two different strands of yarn in the same row, similar to "Faire Isle" but giving a firmer back so your cap will have more insulation. We use a color-changing yarn providing a great smooth effect with less work.

Class Policies
- Your registration is confirmed upon payment.
- Registration grants you a cool 10% discount on any purchases from the week before class through the last day of your class.
- We're glad to reschedule you with a little advance notice, or you can choose to take a store credit.
- Class minimum is 3 students and maximum will be determined by the teacher.
- Private one on one instruction is available for $15/ hour.
- Private classes can be arranged with a teacher if you can work up a minimum party and will be $10/hour for each student.
- Beginner
- No prior instruction or maybe it's been awhile since you have attempted this. "...knit AND watch a movie at the same time...are you KIDDING???
- Advanced Beginner
- Knows the basic cast-ons, cast-offs, increases and decreases and is ready for more challenges. "...can knit during light comedies I've seen before."
- Intermediate
- Has some experience with more advanced techniques like short row shaping, knitting backwards and double-stranded knitting. "...can probably handle a new flick with more dialog than scenery. Okay with FAMILIAR action flicks."
Teacher Bios
- Denise Beuttner
- Is a believer in balance. She makes cool work of heavy decisions by day with the sure use of a regular yoga practice. She is a big fan of breathing deeply and living light.
- Melody Draves
- Owner. Taught herself to knit just to make a knitted cow. She has taught rooms full of 3rd graders how to knit.
- Jan Hench
- We every so often meet people that are so securely inolved in what they like to do that they sparkle and it is hard not to want to join right in and sparkle, too when you talk with Jan. She fell for tatting and works with local and national tatting groups. This is not a dieing art with Jan around. her patient enthusiasm is infectious.
- Juaquetta Holcomb
- Is a spinner's inspiration being unfettered by convention in her artform and her whole career as a fiber artist. She can be spotted spreading the wonder of her wares locally at markets and faires and nationally by invitation. You can ask her about airports and spinning wheels and she will surely have stories.
- Ardell Parkin
- Experienced teacher and quilter and spinner and more. She currently has a yard full of Border Collies in various phases of training for National Agility Trials in October. She keeps us hopping in the shop.
- Barbara Phinney
- Many people have been taught/encouraged/cajoled to knit the most wonderful things in Barb's classes. She has many credits to her name to inspire low whistles of knitting envy. She can even pronounce "Pomatomus".
- Debra Valoff
- Debra is an in-demand teacher up and down the west coast as well as in the midwest for her innovative designs and fun classes. She is a talented colorist, has smart hands and will amaze you with what you can do with her inspirational direction.
- Paula Wood
- Many of the samples you will see in Harmony will have run off Paula's needles and she has a wide fan base from her popular baby sweater workshops and we are often lucky enough to have her drop in to socialize as her mother Ardell is working. There is a new baby due in her family and I am sure he or she will be wrapped in knitted love!
